Description
Usually, when working with a winch, belts or ropes are connected with each other or attached to the vehicle via heavy steel shackles. If the worst comes to the worst, such as rope rupture or failure of attachment points on the vehicle’s side, these can become life-threatening projectiles than can easily break through windows, severely damage sheet metal and also hit people. Therefore, we prefer to replace the steel shackles with so-called soft shackles, which are made from synthetic fibres (Dyneema) similar to the winch ropes. Originally borrowed from the ropes of the shipping industry, the soft shackles also reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in recovery operations and save some weight on our recovery equipment.
