Description
We recommend supplying power to the electric winch via a suitable relay, which can be operated remotely via a switch within reach of the driver: As long as the winch is not in use, it is disconnected from the on-board power supply.
If the front of the vehicle is damaged –in an accident, for example – there is a risk that the insulation of current-carrying winch ropes could also be damaged which, in turn, could cause a short circuit with a noticeable increase in heat which could lead to a fire. For safety reasons, the winch relay ensures that the power circuit to the winch remains without voltage during operation. If the winch is to be used, the switch can easily be operated and the winch is supplied with power via the winch relay.
Relays are available for different installation points:
– 12V On-Board Power Supply
– 4231 for 24V On-Board Power Supply
