Description
We recommend supplying power to the electric winch via a suitable relay, which can be operated remotely via a switch within reach of the driver: As long as the winch is not in use, it is disconnected from the on-board power supply.
If the front of the vehicle gets damaged – in an accident, for example – there is a risk that the insulation of current-carrying winch ropes could also be damaged which, in turn, could cause a short circuit with a noticeable increase in heat which could lead to a fire. For safety reasons, the winch relay ensures that the power circuit to the winch remains without voltage during operation. If the winch is to be used, the switch can easily be operated and the winch is supplied with power via the winch relay.
For use in the G-Class as of 2019 models, to save space we recommend this bistable 12V main switch relay with manual operation with protection class IP66. In addition to the remote control, it can also be manually operated directly on the part itself.
In addition, we offer the suitable bracket for mounting in the engine compartment (article no: 7377).
A variant for 24V vehicle power supply is available.
