Mercedes G-Class Becomes Wild-Looking Coupe Thanks To Mansory

The company plans to make just eight of them.

The Mansory Gronos Coupé EVO C is the long name for the coachbuilder’s new two-door conversion for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The company is making just eight of them, and each buyer gets to specify how their example looks. To show off what’s possible, this one highlights the body in the color-shifting shade Fludium Paint Chrome Atmosphere.

Mansory starts by taking a regular G-Class and stripping off the doors. The team then slices through the body and shifts the B-pillar rearward. This also requires fitting longer panels of glass along the sides because the location of the previous C-pillar is gone.

The conversion also shifts the door mounting points to the B-pillar so that they open the opposite way of most vehicles. This involves relocating the hinges and handles.

The body also gains a front fascia with integrated, yellow lights. The hood with a prominent scoop has the appearance of forged carbon fiber. A light bar attaches to the front of the roof, and there’s a wing on the back.

If a buyer prefers, Mansory can even do an armored version of this machine.

Inside, each customer can specify the SUV’s upholstery and finishes. This one has stark white leather and gold trim. Tan sections keep the cabin from being too monotone. The front seats fold forward to provide access to the two chairs in the back. Mansory says its changes to the G-Class retain all of Mercedes’ safety tech.

The engine also gets some upgrades. Mansory pushes the output to 900 horsepower (671 kilowatts) and 885 pound-feet (1,200 Newton-meters). The company estimates the SUV can hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.3 seconds. The limited top speed is 153 mph (250 kph).

This is Mansory’s second recent coupe conversion. In January, the company debuted the Venatus Coupe Evo C that took the Lamborghini Urus and slices off the rear doors. It planned to make eight of them.

Electric G-Class Goes by the Mercedes EQG Name, Will Boast “Enormous Pulling Power”

The second-generation Mercedes G-Class is so common that most petrolheads do not give a flying hoot about it anymore – unless they’re the ones holding the wheel. The same often applies to the two AMG variants, the normal G 63 and the G 63 4×4 Squared, yet not when it comes to their tuned counterparts.

Mind you, the tuning world has nothing to do with the Mercedes EQG, for now anyway, because the electric off-roader is still in the testing and fine-tuning phase. Several scoops have shown various prototypes in different environments, and all of them wore vinyl stickers on their bodies, meant to hide some of the changes over the ICE-powered models.

Retaining the iconic shape of its brethren, old and new, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz EQG will feature a closed-off grille, and this, together with the missing exhaust tips, will be the main things that will visually set it apart on the outside. Those who know a thing or two about G-Wagens will tell you that it has new front and rear bumpers, fender flares, and wheels with an aero design that will minimize drag compared to the normal offerings, thus improving the driving range.

Besides the new upholstery and trim, the EQG will feature an updated center console hosting a new touchpad controller on the inside. Fresh switchgear will be part of the makeover, and so will new central air vents. There will also be a new steering wheel, deleted analog clock, and a dedicated button that will activate the G-Turn function, as this vehicle is capable of turning like a tank.

Can’t wait to find out what powers it, and to learn the magic numbers, like the output, torque, naught to sixty-two miles per hour sprint time, and top speed? Well, you’re not alone, but these details are still a well-preserved secret. One of the few things the three-pointed star brand had to say about it, for now, is that the EQG will sport “enormous pulling power.” A range extender will be included, and we cannot tell you anything about this feature for now, nor the battery that will feed the four motors driving it.

It has been reported that the Mercedes-Benz EQG will premiere at the end of the year or in 2024 and that the order books will open next year. There’s no way to verify that information yet, but when it will finally show its uncamouflaged face in an official environment, chances are it will look very similar to the one sketched out by kelsonik. The rendering portrays it with a bi-tone look, mixing white on the lower parts of the body and black on the hood, pillars, and roof, and with a backlit closed-off grille that puts the spotlight on its electron-sipping nature.

Modded Mercedes G 63 4×4 Squared RS Edition Feels Ready for a Life of Adventure

The high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz Cars is ready for the long-promised paradigm shift towards full electrification and, as such, is sending off ICE-powered versions left and right, or at least in the land Down Under. But that does not mean it has completely abandoned the ICE lifestyle.

For example, the company has recently started deliveries of yet another mindlessly offending yet utterly enticing creation – the new generation of the 4×4 Squared G-Class lifestyle. Now the high-performance dune-bashing rock crawler is based on the latest AMG, though, aka the Mercedes-AMG G 63. And, of course, once sales started, the American aftermarket realm was already brimming with joy at the thought of ritzy transformations.

No worries, they were not mistaken – the appeal of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4 Squared has been sent through the roof and it’s a welcome departure from the eternal crossover-style ultra-luxury super-SUV duties of Lambo Urus or Rolls-Royce Cullinan. As such, we have seen the G 63 4×4 Squared do its leg day workout at the Vossen gym, big bad wolves disguised as AMG Red Riding Hoods, or even tweaked units being just a few mods away from deploying freedom and the lot.

Now it is also time to check out a ‘subtle’ adventurer. Well, sort of, since we are dealing with a Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4 Squared that looks like it was born lifted and only knows how to play with 577 ponies from its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 mill. It does all that, but I am not so sure about the performance figures (62 mph in 3.9 seconds and 155 mph/250 kph top speed) seen in the description of the post embedded below. It’s more like an advertisement for an E 63 S sedan, frankly, and mostly because a G 63 would not be able to achieve such high speeds on its off-roader tires.

Anyway, that is for the good folks over at Atlanta, Georgia-based Road Show International to account for. After all, now they have yet another ‘subtle’ treat that may or may not cause Mercedes-Benz fans to run amok crying their outrage. Still, I imagine that G-Class aficionados will not be offended by this build, which certainly looks ready to embark on a string of road-trip adventures that will see the owner tour the entire world – if he or she manages to climb the tiny ladder at the back and fit all the necessary luggage on the roof rack without getting hurt, that is.

Well, jokes aside, this G 63 4×4 Squared RS Edition in Steel (exterior) and Pearl (interior) is more than prepared for anything the owner (it may or may not be for sale – but it could also be a VIP’s latest custom ride) throws at it – whether we are talking about mall-crawling duties or dune-bashing shenanigans. Cool, right?

Mercedes-Benz EQG Spied: The Electric G-Wagen Reveals Updated Cockpit

Mercedes’ current electric vehicle family is bound to be expanded with the introduction of several other models. One of them will be a zero-emission version of the G-Class, which has been in the making for a while now, and was previewed by the EQG Concept last year.

Spied on a few occasions, the Mercedes-Benz EQG has now returned to the scoop arena with a new prototype snapped by our man with the cam at an undisclosed location during cold-weather testing, which was kind enough to partially reveal its cabin.

Compared to the normal G-Class, the EQG has an updated center console, with a new touchpad controller surrounded by a few buttons. The area between the central air vents is also new, and it hosts some fresh switchgear, like the button for the G-Turn function, because in case you forgot, the electric G-Wagen will be capable of pulling some Rivian-style tank turns. A ‘Low Range’ button is also visible, and it has a new steering wheel too. The analog clock is gone from the EQG, which might further set itself apart from the regular G-Class by featuring revised upholstery and trim.

Besides providing a glimpse inside, this Mercedes EQG prototype has revealed more of the exterior design, which still retains the boxy shape of the ICE-powered models. However, the grille is different, and has a partially closed-off style, and the front bumper is all new. The same goes for the fender flares, and rear bumper, with the latter sporting a revised central area that houses the license plate holder. The aero wheels are exclusive to it, and they likely help minimize drag, contributing to enhanced range compared to a normal set. Elsewhere, it is the same trippy wrap, with an electron-sipping pattern.

We don’t know much about the powertrain, save for the fact that it will feature a quad-motor setup, with each unit likely driving one wheel. Mercedes spoke of “enormous pulling power” without going into specifics, and chances are that it will dwarf the versions powered by fossil fuels in terms of output, and probably towing capability too. The motors will be fed by a battery pack with an undisclosed capacity, which will be joined by an extended version that holds more energy in the same space, and thus increases the driving range significantly over the stock offering.

In terms of underpinnings, look for a familiar ladder frame chassis, which means that the EQG will still be an off-roading brute. Still, in order to conquer the great outdoors, future owners will have to ditch the stock wheels and go for chunkier rubber. But that’s a different topic altogether, as first we have to wait for them to unveil it, and that will probably happen towards the end of the year, or in 2024. Reports indicate that it will go on sale next year.

Kylie Jenner’s Latest Go-To Car Is a Custom Mercedes-AMG G 63 With Brabus Off-Road Parts

When your garage is filled with crazy expensive cars, it’s pretty difficult to choose just one as your designated go-to car. But Kylie Jenner has no issues switching from one car to the other. However, she’s currently going for her custom Mercedes-AMG G 63 with Brabus parts.

Kylie Jenner’s garage is the most expensive out of all the Kardashian-Jenner sisters. While it’s not as customized as her sister Kim’s, it includes lots of pricey cars. In her collection, there’s a $3 million Bugatti Chiron, a Ferrari LaFerrari that she got from her partner, Travis Scott, several Rolls-Royces, a Cullinan with a pink interior, a Ghost, and a Phantom. Plus a Lamborghini Aventador, a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, and a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. That is without including Travis Scott’s expensive car collection.

With all of these, she has no trouble switching up now and then, opting for one of them to become her go-to car for a while. In this case, she has recently shown the most interest in a silver Mercedes-AMG G 63 Brabus.

The G-Wagen is a popular choice among celebrities and other high-profile names, so it’s not surprising to see the Kardashian-Jenners jump on this trend. Kylie has had multiple models from the German brand. She was recently seen out and about, filming scenes for the family’s reality show, The Kardashians, and her vehicle of choice was this G 63 Brabus.

Since Kylie spares no expense when it comes to her cars, this G-Wagen has been heavily customized with Brabus parts. It displays a Widestar kit, which features modified fenders and bumpers, a carbon fiber hood, which are part of the Brabus Adventure pack. The equipment list also includes specific bull bar and integrated winch at the front and wind deflectors above the windshield. It has new LED lights on top, and a big, silver roof rack bar, plus a silver ladder. The radiator grille doesn’t sport the usual “B” logo, but it is visible on the hood and at the rear, on the spare wheel cover.

The off-roader also comes with new wheels called Brabus Adventure XLP. There’s no information whether the engine also got the Brabus treatment. For this project, Kylie seems to have worked with Platinum Motorsport, a famous auto repair shop and Kim’s longtime collaborator, which re-shared the set of pictures on its official Instagram account. The vehicle also sports a Platinum Motorsport license plate frame. And it’s no wonder Kylie likes it so much.
